1.1 State the Vision and Mission of the Department and Institute (5)

Vision of the Institution:

To be a center of excellence, focusing on high quality technical education, research skills and technical services with global competence to succeed in employment and higher education having ethical, social and entrepreneurial aspects with lifelong learning to cater the needs of the stake holders with multi-disciplinary approach.

 

Mission of the Institution:

To impart high quality technical education by providing the core instruction, state-of-art laboratories and preparing the students with cognizant knowledge, analytical skills,  design and development of solutions, effective communication skills, research and services of global competence with the attitudes of ethical, social and entrepreneurial aspects, lifelong learning with multi-disciplinary approach and to succeed in employment and higher education satisfying the real time needs of the stakeholders

 

Vision of the Department:

To be a center of excellence in Electronics and Communication Engineering focusing on high quality technical education, research skills with creative solutions and technical services with global competence to succeed in employment and higher education having ethical, social and entrepreneurial aspects with lifelong learning to cater the needs of the stake holders with multi-disciplinary approach.

 

Mission of the Department:

M1: To Develop and deliver Quality academic programmes in Emerging and innovative field of Engineering to empower the students to meet Industry Standards.

M2: To build student community with high ethical standards to undertake R&D in thrust areas of national and international needs

M3: To create Centre of Excellence by establishing the incubation centers to meet global research challenges.

 

 

Dr.N.SELVARASU
 B.E.,M.E., Ph.D.

Profile :

Prof. N.SELVARASU is professor and HOD in ECE department at SVS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, WARANGAL, TELANGANA. He received B.E. from V.L.B. Janakiammal College of Engineering & Technology, Coimbatore, Bharathiar University, and M.E. from Sathyabama University , India and pursuing PhD from Sathyabama University,  He has 20  years of experience in teaching undergraduate and post graduate students, and guided more than 50 undergraduate and more than 20 postgraduate theses. He has produced 5 papers in International Journals, 9 papers in International Conferences and  7 paper in National Conferences. His research interests are in the areas of Electronics.

The Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department are listed below:

  1. To prepare students to excel in technical knowledge this is useful in postgraduate programmers or to succeed in industry / technical profession through global, rigorous education.

  2. To provide students with a solid foundation in mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals required to solve engineering problems and also to pursue higher studies.

  3. To inculcate in students professional and ethical attitude, effective communication skills, teamwork skills, multidisciplinary approach, and an ability to relate engineering issues to broader social context.

  4. To train students with good scientific and engineering breadth so as to comprehend, analyze, design VLSI and signal processing related new approaches, create novel products and solutions for the real life problems.

  5. To provide students with an academic environment of excellence, leadership and guidelines for life-long learning to work in a multi disciplinary team environment for a successful career

Electronics and Communication Engineering Program Outcomes (POs):

Based on the department’s educational objectives, students will achieve the following specific outcomes within a challenging and supportive environment.

  1. An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering, knowledge of Fundamentals/Principles.

  2. An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data, Experimentation & Interpret/Engineering Analysis.

  3. An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs in Electronics and Communication Engineering within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability, Design and Modeling.

  4. An ability to function on multidisciplinary teams.

  5. An ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems.

  6. An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.

  7. An ability to communicate effectively.

  8. The broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context.

  9. A recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning to get an employment in Electronics and Communication engineering and related industry and be able to participate and succeed in competitive examinations like GRE, GATE, CAT, GMAT, PSUs, etc.

  10. A knowledge of contemporary issues, and contemporary issues, non-technical issues, global awareness.

  11. An ability to use the techniques, skills and modern Electronics and Communication Engineering tools necessary for system design with embedded engineering practice.
